Bible Emphasis

That we, sinners, are unworthy of the least of God's favor is indisputable. The question is: Is that the emphasis of the Bible? We are "damaged product." The first thing we need to know is how great God is. We need to know that the love of God was made known to us because we were sinners (Romans 5:8).

Certainly God loved His creation-all of it. But did God evidence love for Adam more before he fell into sin or after falling into sin? I say after Adam fell into sin. There was no obligation on God's part to love a fallen creature if it was the former. The love of God made His action toward fallen mandind all the greater. God of His free grace forgave Adam and Eve thereby displaying to all (angels and men yet to be born) that God is merciful, compassionate, longsuffering, and kind. And because He is a forgiving God, He is to be feared (Psalm 130:4).
