In an age of terrorism what does self-conscious Christianity look like? Now before we get carried away with tucking a Bible under our arm and carrying it everywhere we go; do we really think that that is the right way to communicate the concept of self-conscious Christianity? Observe Muslims, our religious enemies. They know who they are and about what they are. A child born into a Muslim family is taught to obey the law of his god Allah. The highest destiny of an adherent of Islam is to die for the cause of Allah in subduing the world to Islam.
We as Christians also have a dominion mandate from our God. He is the King of kings, the Maker of heaven and earth. From the beginning of time man was meant to have dominion over the earth. It is in light of God’s authority over the whole world that we are to recognize and serve Him. Our weapons are not bomb laden vests but are the words of the eternal gospel, “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” (Rev. 14:6). There is no question about dominion. The question is will we serve Jehovah or Allah?
